How I feel about the L’Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation

Normally I would not gravitate toward any drugstore foundations because, well, they are just not as good as high-end ones (at least from my experience). But there is just so many hype around the L’oreal True Match Cushion Foundation, I could not resist the temptation when I was strolling around in Duade Reade last week for new things to try. I’ve tried a fare share of cushion foundations, they are so quick & easy to apply. My favorite one so far is Sulwhasoo’s Perfecting Cushion Foundation (read my review here). And my least favorite one overall, surprise, surprise, is the L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. Price: It all comes down to maths. L’oreal has a price tag of $15, looks like it’s way cheaper than Sulwhasoo’s ($60). But Sulwhasoo’s cushion comes with a full-size refill, that’s two products in one. So to make it comparable to the L’oreal Lumi, Sulwhasoo’s actually costs only $30 for one cushion. And after I look deeper into the size of these two products, one refill of Sulwhasoo’s contains 1oz of products, …

Bite Beauty: Lipsticks that are good enough to eat

I’ve been thinking, how many lipstick have I eaten through drinking coffee & eating food with lipstick on? I know you are suppose to take off your lipstick before eating, but who really does that? Not me! Although I’ve been using its agave lip mask for almost over a year now, I’ve recently discovered that Bite Beauty products contains mostly natural and organic ingredients that are good enough to eat. With this in mind, I decided to give more of their products a try. Amuse Bouche Lipstick: Oh..where should I start! The Color is incredibly vibrant and long-lasting, and the formula is very creamy and moisturizing, it’s like a perfect combination of lip balm and lipstick. It’s now become my favorite lipstick in place of Charlotte Tilbury’s matte revolution line. The Multistick: Applies like a cream and wears like a powder – it’s easy to blend like a cream but has the staying power of a powder. I’ve tried it on eyes, lips and cheeks, it works perfect all three ways. Read more here.

The Best Eyeliners (that actually stay put)

A good eyeliner to me is one, easy to draw and control , cause I am really bad at drawing. And two, never smudges , I won’t have myself looking like a panda at the end of a day ever again. To save your money and time on choosing, I will give you recommendations with best of the best, one eye pencil and one liquid eye liner. Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Liner Trio Funny story, I could not even remember why I bought this eyeliner. I think I was just eying something to try in Duade Reade and somehow decided to go for this eyeliner set. And it turns out to be my best drugstore purchase ever. The eyeliner is really soft and creamy, easy to draw and control; but the longevity is surprisingly good for such formula. I usually only have some minor smudges around the outer corner of my eyes at the end of the day. Plus the subtle shimmer of this eyeliner make your eyes sparkles. *Sidenote: I used to really love the …

My Top Tips On Being More Efficient

I used to be the queen of procrastination. Admit it, we’ve all been there! But it’s not us, it’s the allurement of social media, cozy beds and pure satisfaction out of just doing nothing. One of my 2016 resolutions was to be more efficient; specifically, achieve three goals on my to-do list everyday. I think I did pretty well (kinda). So at the start of this year, I want to share with you my experience and tips I’ve learned on becoming more efficient. 1. Making List & Invest in a good notebook: Planning is key. I used to be someone that start to do whatever pop into my head at the moment . At the end of day I usually end up with nothing finished. A good way to plan is to start with your yearly goals, and split it to more specific monthly/weekly/daily goals. But don’t write a daily to-do list the size of an island, you will feel discouraged by not finishing most of them and eventually gave up making list and sticking to …

Products I will repurchase in 2017

2016 is the year I really begin to keep track of beauty products I like and don’t like. It is also the year I realize that there are so so many good products out there. So 2016 favorites? I have a ton. But taking into account price and accessibility, there are only a few I will definitely repurchase in 2017 (some are already on the way 🙂 ).   SKINCARE I have combination skin, oily around the nose area and dry in cheeks. I have clogged pores and occasional acne. One Love Organics: I got to know this cleansing oil when I did a facial at the Heyday. I was first attracted to it by the fruity smell and later by how my skin feels afterward – clean but not squeaky. It’s formulated with organic fruit and sunflower oil and emulsify really easily; so you don’t have to worry about the whole oil clogging pores shebang. One pump is enough for the whole face. MV Organic Oil: Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you cannot use …
