Best Winter Foundations

For someone with combination skin, my standard for a good winter foundation is hydrating, long-lasting and won’t oxidize and turn into a yellow-greyish color later in the day. (I am talking about Giorgio Armani foundations).

But let’s be honest, a good base makeup is the hardest to find. Luckily, after so many tries, I’ve found 3 foundations over the years that have become staples in my collection in winter. Hope you can find some product of your interest from these recommendations.

IT Costmetics CC cream (
Available at Sephora, Ulta, Itcosmetics.com
)

A recent new find but apparently is no longer a cult favorite. Everyone is so  hyped  about this right now, including the cool gals at Into the gloss. The name CC cream makes it seems like another gimmicky product but it’s really not. I’ve been using it everyday for the past month. For a price point of $38, this is the best thing ever! It’s creamy, hydrating, has a medium to full coverage and SPF 50. The finish of it is natural and dewy. Another skin-like foundation.

The only down side of it is that I feel you will run out of it pretty fast. So I’ve already placed another order on Sephora just in case.

By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation (Available at SpaceNK, B-Glowing)
I’ve talked about my love for this one for so many times. You can actually use this in spring,summer,fall as well as winter. You just need to adjust your morning moisturizer type and finishing powder application. It has a sheer to medium coverage, very build able and gives a subtle glow finish.  It’s the type of foundation that I can wear comfortably everyday.

Cle de Peau Silky Cream Foundation (Available at Cle de peau, Nordstrom)

My favorite summer-time foundation is the matte version of this one. The most impressive thing but this line of foundation is the staying power and how it becomes more dewy and glowy later into the day.

The coverage of this foundation is nearly full coverage, so it is especially great for if you have acne / acne scarring. I use this more often when I suffered from acne. And it does not irritate your skin or make your acne worse.

Born and raised in China; went to to NYU for College and going to Columbia Business School for Marketing Degree this fall. I have worked in the beauty industry for a year after graduating from college. But my obsession with beauty starts since high school, when I suffered from acnes. That being said, I have tried out a lot of skincare products as well as makeup and I have a lot of opinions on them (also high standards). I hope this is the place you can visit from time to time to find beauty inspirations or just to kill time :)
