Review: Glossier _Milky Jelly Cleanser

I am a huge believer in washing your face in the morning. Even if you have dry skin, you still need to wash off the dirt and oil on your face, and have a clean canvas for makeup. You just need to find the right cleanser. Before trying out the Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser, I had switched between so many; yet nothing seems to be the right one for morning time. Foamy cleansers are too stripping, cream cleansers do not have the cleansing power I want.                 The Milky Jelly cleanser though is an all-rounder – a gel cleanser that is gentle enough to use it in the morning, but at the same time cleanse really well without stripping or leaving any residues on your skin. Formulated with ingredients from contact lens solution, you can even safely use it around your eyes with no irritation. Plus the subtle rosy smell of it just make the start of my everyday a whole lot better! The way I use it in …

Best Winter Foundations

For someone with combination skin, my standard for a good winter foundation is hydrating, long-lasting and won’t oxidize and turn into a yellow-greyish color later in the day. (I am talking about Giorgio Armani foundations). But let’s be honest, a good base makeup is the hardest to find. Luckily, after so many tries, I’ve found 3 foundations over the years that have become staples in my collection in winter. Hope you can find some product of your interest from these recommendations. IT Costmetics CC cream (Available at Sephora, Ulta, Itcosmetics.com) A recent new find but apparently is no longer a cult favorite. Everyone is so  hyped  about this right now, including the cool gals at Into the gloss. The name CC cream makes it seems like another gimmicky product but it’s really not. I’ve been using it everyday for the past month. For a price point of $38, this is the best thing ever! It’s creamy, hydrating, has a medium to full coverage and SPF 50. The finish of it is natural and dewy. Another skin-like foundation. …

New In: Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eye Palette

My friend from London brought me this amazing palette during her recent visit. This is a brand that every UK Youtuber has been raving about for its exceptionally high quality eye shadows and reasonable price point.  I tried the palette today and was really wowed by it – gorgeous colors with both shimmers and mattes; it also has really buttery formula and is quite long-lasting as well. Who need $80 Tomford eye palette with only 4 colors when you have a $40 one with 15 colors with similar quality (except for the packaging of course!). I didn’t realize until today that you can actually get this in the States at the Zoeva Website at a fraction higher price compare to that in the UK. But trust me, the value you get out of it will be way beyond its price.
