Review: Glossier Limited Edition Black Tie Set

When Glossier says limited edition, you set your alarm and get it before it run out of stock again!

The set arrived yesterday so I got a chance to test out all the products this morning. Personally, I have mixed feeling about this set. But for the price point ($50), I think it’s denifitely worth to have this in your stash or send it as a holiday gift! (Get 20% off here)

1.Lip Gloss

My favorite out of the set is the lip gloss. The packaging is super cute (as all glossier products are), the formula is quite moisturizing, and the best thing is that the gloss stay put for a long time. I would not say it’s not sticky at all, but it’s bearable.

This one is a beauty and another favorite! I believe it’s because it has real Moonstone in it (so cool!), the flecks of pink and blue is just mesmerizing. The cool undertone makes it very versatile as a highlighter, you can apply it to your cheekbones, brow bones, nose bridges or cupid bows. With coconut oil, almond oil and castor seed oil in it, it is super easy to glide onto your skin and to blend out. Love love love!

3.No.1 Pencil

You can see Glossier put a lot of thought into this eyeliner – there is a small sponge & pencil sharpener at the end of the liner – love this extra touch! Though I just cannot agree with the formula of the pencil itself. It is waterproof , but it smudges all around my eyes in 1 hour. Maybe it’s due to my super high- maintenance eyelids.

**The only eyeliners that do not smudges on me are Stila’s, Kat Von Dee’s and Jouer’s.**

4. Nail Polish

Ok…I know my nail does not look that great in this photo. But given I did not apply any base coat or top coat, and with only two quick coats of this nail polish on, I do not need to tell you how good this #glossierpink nail polish is. My only complain is that it smells as funky as other normal nail polishes, guess my expectation is too high for Glossier.

Born and raised in China; came to NYU for university and Columbia for grad school. Now I am officially a woman in tech:) I have worked in the beauty industry for a year after graduating from college. But my obsession with beauty starts since high school, when I suffered from acnes. That being said, I have tried out a lot of skincare products as well as makeup and I have a lot of opinions on them (also high standards). I hope this is the place you can visit from time to time to find beauty inspirations, some fashion finds or even just to kill time. For general queries and chit-chat, you can reach me via email at .

This eyeliner just smudges and disappears on me immediately!

    • It smudges on me too! Though most eyeliners are like that on me.

Me too! But this one is the worst! I started only doing under eyeliner because I get so many smudges. Try the Marc Jacobs pencil! It sticks on the best I’ve tried for a pencil.

        • Thank you!! I will give it a try. The one that never smudges on me is the Jour Kitten Liquid Eyeliner; even better than stile’s and kat von d’s.
