4 No-Brainer Single Eyeshadows (feat. Burberry, MAC, Dior, By Terry)

We all love watching those makeup tutorials with all the layering and smudging of eyeshadows. But aside from the pure enjoyment of watching them, who really has the time to actually do them everyday?!  I have 4 of my favorite single eyeshadows from Mac, By Terry, Dior and Burberry that will make your eyes pop and without all the fuss.

MAC YSL BYTERRY BURBERRY- eyeshadows-swatches

1. MAC – Omega

A cult classic for natural eye contouring. The color is spot on: not too orange and not too grey. And it blends especially well with Asian’s skintone. I apply this along my nose bridges and eye socket as a eye coutour & nose shadow for more definition.

2. Burberry – Pale Barley No. 102

I have heard Estee rave about the Burberry Pale Barley for a long time. The color does not look that impressive in the pan, but gorgeous on the eyes.  If you want a brown/beige eyeshadow with some golden shimmer to it, this is the one.  It is Burberry, so you know the formula is good – soft, creamy, pigmented, long lasting…

*I actually got mine in a Burberry festival set from Sephora (really good deal! Get them before they sold out again. Yes I’ve been there. It was devastating.)

3. By Terry Ombre Black Star – Misty Rock

I use By Terry cream eyeshadow stick whenever I am really in a hurry. The formula is so soft, creamy and easy to blend that it literally takes 30 seconds to apply both eyes.  Just like the name Misty Rock suggests,  the color is a mixture of brown, purple and grey with a beautiful wet finish. I’ve never seen a color of eyeshadow quite like this one. You just have to try it.

4. Dior – 661 Météore

For when I  want some goddess gold on my lid. This gold is very wearable and the formula is very long-lasting (no creasing!) – so great choice for you busy ladies out there.

*Use Ebates for 1%-10% of cash back at Sephora and other online stores (see my post here).

Born and raised in China; went to to NYU for College and going to Columbia Business School for Marketing Degree this fall. I have worked in the beauty industry for a year after graduating from college. But my obsession with beauty starts since high school, when I suffered from acnes. That being said, I have tried out a lot of skincare products as well as makeup and I have a lot of opinions on them (also high standards). I hope this is the place you can visit from time to time to find beauty inspirations or just to kill time :)
